Q. What is The Founders Day Giving Challenge?
The Founders Day Giving Challenge is Catholic University’s day of celebration where we recognize our great past and bright future. On April 10, alumni, parents, faculty, staff, students, and friends are encouraged to come together and demonstrate that, when it comes to making a difference, this community is powerful. During those 24 hours, please show your Cardinal pride, participate in some friendly and fun competition, and, most importantly, make an impact on current and future students by making a gift to the designation(s) of your choice.
Q. How do I participate?
Visit foundersday.catholic.edu on April 10 to make your gift of any size to the designation(s) of your choosing. This website will track gifts minute by minute, and you will be able to see how your gift makes a difference. Participate by making your gift and then encouraging your fellow Cardinals to make one, too! Feel free to post on social media using #CUFoundersDay to share that you’ve participated.
Q. Who can participate?
Everyone. Please help us spread the word by posting on social media using #CUFoundersDay!
Q. Does my gift today count toward my reunion class goals?
Yes! All gifts to The Catholic University of America, including those made during events like Founders Day, will be counted as part of your reunion class participation and giving goals.
Q. Will my Founders Day gift be tax deductible?
Yes. Your gift is entirely tax deductible. You will receive an email receipt acknowledging your gift and a tax receipt via mail from Catholic University.
Q. Is there a minimum gift?
There is a $5 minimum donation.
Q. Can I make donations via a mobile device?
Yes! Simply visit foundersday.catholic.edu.
Q. Where does my Founders Day gift go?
Your Founders Day gift will go to the area of the University that means the most to you. You'll find options to give in support of our schools, athletic programs, student affairs, among other options. We have confidence that you’ll be able to choose an area of campus that’s meaningful to you, but if you have any difficulty finding the right fit, please email giving2cua@cua.edu.
Q. How do I help unlock challenges?
For more details, check back soon for more details on this year's challenges! Some challenges will run for the duration of the giving day but others are only available during certain timeframes. Make sure to check out the page as it may help your gift go even farther!
Q. Can I make a gift by mail or phone?
Yes, if you would like to make a gift by phone, please call 202-319-6518. Due to the tight time frame of this challenge, only gifts made online, by phone, or in response to the Founders Day mailing are guaranteed to count toward overall totals.
Q. What if I already made a gift to the University this year?
Thank you for being part of our family of donors! We appreciate your commitment and, if you so choose, you can still participate in Founders Day by making an additional gift of any size. You can also participate by promoting Founders Day to others.
Q. Is my payment secure?
Absolutely. Founders Day is facilitated by GiveGab, a company that has partnered with Stripe, a PCI Service Provider Level 1 (the most stringent level of certification possible) to process all gifts made through GivingDay.org. Read through Stripe's security documentation online.
